Bret Batchelor Bret Batchelor, 42, died Thursday. He was born Sept. 11, 1958, in Ogden, Utah, and was a two-year resident of Overton and former resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Brooke; son, Drew, both of St. George, Utah; father and stepmother, Gary and Kay, both of Overton; sisters, Bradi Lamping of Logandale and Britney Willey of Boise; and brothers, Brannon of Salt Lake City and Kiel of Overton. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Overton. Burial will follow at the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary of Logandale. Lloyd Brauer Lloyd W. Brauer, 85, died May 24, in Beaver, Utah. He was born March 12, 1916, in Portland, Ore. A retired Air Forces veteran of World War II and former base commander for Nellis Air Force Base, he was awarded the Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster and Theater of Operation medals for all theaters, and was a former resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ellanore of St. George, Utah; sons, James of Indian Springs and Richard of Beaver; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Oplin Mortuary of Beaver handled arrangements. Roger Brusso Roger W. Brusso, 57, died Wednesday. He was born May 12, 1944, in Queens, N.Y. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a telecommunications engineer for a telephone company and a five-year resident of Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Trudy of Henderson; daughters, Valerie of Jaffrey, N.H., and Tarra of Henderson; son, Kevin of Henderson; brother, Leonard of Florida; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Palm Mortuary-Eastern handled arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. Violet Dieckman Violet Dieckman, 101, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1899, in Allegan, Mich. A retired retail sales associate, she was a member of Order of Eastern Star and a 47-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her sons, Leslie of Las Vegas and David of Hillsboro, Mo.; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary-Downtown followed with graveside services at Palm Memorial Park-Downtown. Robert Hall Robert A. Hall, 81, died Wednesday in Odyssey Hospice. He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Chicago. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired insurance company owner/operator; a member of Kiwanis Club, Shriners, Masonic Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars; and a 22-year resident of Henderson. He is survived by his daughter, Denise of California; stepdaughter, Arlene Akers of Pahrump; stepsons, Ray Nielsen of Oakhurst, Calif. and Dennis Nielsen of Henderson; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Palm Mortuary-Downtown handled arrangements. Minnie Haycock Minnie Haycock, 76, died Friday. She was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Arkansas. A homemaker, she was a 65-year resident of Las Vegas and Goodsprings. She is survived by her sons, Ronald and Thomas; daughter, Marilyn Cibulka, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Christine Stephens of Goodsprings and Stella Reed of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gateway and Wyoming Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints followed with burial at Bunkers Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary handled arrangements. Rune Johnson Rune C. Johnson, 66, died Thursday in a Henderson hospital. He was born June 20, 1934, in Bronx, N.Y. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired sales manager and a three-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Marianne; sons, Rune II, both of Las Vegas and David of Florida; daughter, Karen Geyer of Florida; mother, Eva of Cortland, N.Y.; sister, Doris Roos of Homer, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary-Eastern. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church followed with graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Sound of the Spirit, Radio Station KILA. Charles Malone Charles Jr. Malone, 73, died May 20 in Los Angeles. He was born April 28, 1928, in Kansas. An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a retired laborer in the International Laborers Union and a longtime resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anna; daughters, Patricia of Fort Collins, Colo., Rose Mary Johnson of Henderson and Kathleen of Orem, Utah; sons, Charles of Torrance, Calif., Michael of Manteca, Calif., and Roy II of Stockton, Calif.; sisters, Paulette Johnson and Sheila Harvey; and brother, Gene Johnson, all of Henderson; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. McMurray, 40, died Wednesday. She was born June 15, 1960, and was a lifetime resident of Las Vegas. She was a teacher and a member of National Education Association. She is survived by her husband, Eric; sons, Eric Jr. and Nathaniel; mother, Mary Wilson; and father, Nathaniel Wilson, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Patty Pierson and Vivian Harris, both of San Diego, Hattie Issac of Michigan and Dorothy Lemore of Louisiana; and brothers, Alan Love III of Las Vegas, Kevin LeGgrone of San Diego and Nathaniel Issac of Louisiana. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Vegas View Church of God in Christ followed with graveside services at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Evelyn Rea Evelyn "Ellie" Rea, 75, died Wednesday. She was born March 31, 1926, in Minnesota. A retired secretary for a surveying company, she was a 25-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her sons, Michael Engelby of Cataldo, Idaho, and Lauren Engelby of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Linda Elder of Medimont, Idaho, and Doreen Bell of San Diego; brother, Elwin Cartwright of Las Vegas; sister, Martha Jensen of Cambridge, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Michael Stefanisko Michael Stefanisko, 58, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital. He was born April 28, 1943, in Hazelton, Pa. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired mechanical engineer in computers and a two-year resident of North Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Las Vegas; son, Nicklos of Gilroy, Calif.; daughter, Michele of Las Vegas; brother, Leonard of Fallbrook, Calif.; and sister, Rosemary Kapes of West Hazelton, Pa. Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne handled arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Wanda Strickler Wanda Marie Strickler, 78, died Friday. She was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Washington. A retired secretary for a research and development company, she was a nine-month resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her son, Kenneth of Henderson; sister, Violet Schmidt of Kennewick, Wash.; brother, Warren Staats of Kamiah, Idaho; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Pasco, Wash. Bunkers Mortuary handled arrangements. William Stromer William John Stromer, 69, died Wednesday in a Las Vegas hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Marinette, Wis. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired Highway Patrol officer, a former sheriff in Washoe County, a former member of the Public Service Commission and a 35-year resident of Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Martha; and daughters, Megan Albright and Elizabeth Fredericks, all of Las Vegas; mother, Alice of Marinette; sisters, Kathleen Harris of Clearwater, Fla., and Eileen Bauers of New Berlin, Wis.; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Foundation, the National Rifle Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Martinique Tillman Martinique L. Tillman, 21, died Monday. He was born Dec. 22, 1979, was a lifetime resident of Las Vegas and a telemarketer. He is survived by his fiancee, Monica Carter; sons, Anthony and Phillip; and daughter, Mianique, all of Las Vegas; mother, Pamela; father, Arthur; brothers, Arthur and Apollo; sister, Ashley; and grandparents, Geneva and Lonnie O'Neal and Ethel and Charles Denson. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at Harrison-Ross Mortuary. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church followed with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rosa Villasenor Rosa A. Villasenor, 55, died Saturday at Nathan Adelson Hospice. She was born April 1, 1946, in Ameca Jalisco, Mexico. A housekeeper for a hotel, she was a six-year resident of Las Vegas. She is survived by her husband, Ramiro; daughters, Angelica Escoto, Maria Orozco, Leticia Ayala and Rosaura; and sons, Ramiro, Juan and Jose, all of Las Vegas, Jorge of Mexico and Gabriel of Los Angeles; father, Gabriel Jimenez of Mexico; six brothers; four sisters; and 14 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary-Eastern where services will be at 3 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
