NORM: Kevin, Britney drama goes on

Kevin Federline sang at Pure without Britney Spears.

Another day, another drama in the soap opera world of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.

The on-again, off-again couple apparently had a blowup before he sang two songs from his new CD, "Playing With Fire," at Pure nightclub Friday.

Earlier, Spears left Nero's restaurant at Caesars Palace in tears, spies said, and she was a no-show on the red carpet at Pure.

The word I'm hearing is that Federline didn't want her overshadowing him on the red carpet, where two dozen camera crews waited.

She went back to their suite while Federline joined family and friends at Pure. Paris Hilton's mother, Kathy, introduced him to the crowd.

Federline had DJ Hollywood play two of his songs, "America's Most Hated" and "Rockstar," while the former backup dancer sang them.

Also in the VIP section: Tom Brady, Tracy McGrady and Tatiana Ali. ON THE ROAD AGAIN

I'm back in Denver, this time for a triple-header: the wedding of Rocky Mountain News sports cartoonist Drew Litton and Marcia Stauffer, the Las Vegas-themed Mask Project gala and a Rockies-Giants game.

Also here from Vegas as entertainment for the 500-mask event: Elvis (Greg Miller), Cher (Heidi Thompson) and Tina Turner (Cookie Watkins).

Took a sentimental journey Friday to LoDo, for Lower Downtown, the land of $2 cover charges, $2 cups of beer and Coors Field.

The booing of Barry Bonds was so loud at the Rockies game that we were jolted by the racket while dining in the stadium's glassed-in Mountain Ranch Club.

The Rockies had extra security on hand, and Bonds had four security men dressed as fans in the left field stands, we were told by a Rockies official.
