NORM: Prince chooses life on road over Rio

Prince took over the Club Rio showroom in November.

Adam "Pacman" Jones had to take anger management counseling by order of the NFL.

Snoop Dogg was in Australia over the weekend.

Prince's run at the Rio might be a brief one. Alicia Jacobs, entertainment reporter at KVBC-TV, Channel 3, reported Sunday that Prince will end his Rio deal on March 31.

Jacobs said Prince, who took over the Club Rio showroom in November, is going on tour to promote his latest CD. But a 3121 rep said the show is indefinite, and "there's not a confirmed end date as of yet."

Perhaps most revealing, however, was the group of uber entertainment executives who attended a private Prince performance about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, after his main show at his 3121 club.

Among 30 guests in a small backroom were ABC entertainment honcho David Saltz; Apple Records boss Jonathan Clyde, who produced most of Usher's major hits, and Siegfried & Roy's longtime manager, Bernie Yuman.

Saltz is reportedly working on a huge Beatles-related Prince project. Prince spent most of the private concert singing arrangements of Beatles songs.

Connect the dots.

MIDDLE OF MAYHEM

Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has a trouble-prone past. Jones, who was fined $100,000 by the NFL and ordered to take anger management counseling, was in the middle of a 5 a.m. brawl that evolved into a triple shooting at Minxx Gentlemen's Club & Lounge, according to a variety of reports.

Twice during his two years in the NFL, he has been accused of spitting on a woman in a nightclub.

There are reports that Jones set off the melee at Minxx by punching a woman who was scooping up money that Jones had thrown into the air.

Steve Cofield of Fox Sports Radio 1460 said Tuesday during his daily radio show that a source at the scene of the incident said Jones may have been involved in biting one of the two bouncers who were shot.

Jones' attorney, Worrick Robinson, on Monday confirmed Jones was at the club and is cooperating with authorities. He is not a suspect in the shootings, Robinson said.

Jones, who played at West Virginia, was the Titans' No. 1 draft choice in 2005 and the sixth player taken overall.
