ROAD WARRIOR ALERT: Arizona I-15 project winds down for winter

The repaving of a 16-mile segment of Interstate 15 in northwestern Arizona is nearing its final stages for the winter, the Arizona Department of Transportation said. Road crews will remove traffic restrictions, and work will cease Wednesday.

The agency will return in late March to apply the top layer of asphalt. The final stage of the $11.6 million project between the Virgin River Gorge and the Utah state line will take about one month to complete.

Crews will work this weekend to lay down the first two layers of pavement, requiring a single lane restriction in both directions.
