Las Vegas Sands Corp. Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson will probably return to the witness stand next month.
The wrongful termination lawsuit brought in Clark County District Court by former Sands China Ltd. CEO Steven Jacobs has been set for a weeklong hearing starting July 16 over the initial question of where a trial should take place. Clark County District Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez penciled in the date on Tuesday during the latest hearing in the case.
Jacobs wants to keep the case in Las Vegas, in part because the decision to dismiss him was made here.
Sands attorneys have argued for more than two years that jurisdiction belongs on Chinese soil. Sands China oversees the company’s booming operations in Macau and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
As part of the hearing, Jacobs’ attorneys will call Adelson to testify.
The Nevada Supreme Court has already ruled that the jurisdiction must be decided before a full-fledged trial can proceed.
