Video on the web leads to arrest in Las Vegas burglary

A man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of burglary after the victim, Ed Vidal, posted video of the alleged theft on the Internet.

Las Vegas police say Austin Jones, 23, of Las Vegas, forcibly entered Vidal’s home in the 2000 block of Tanner Valley Circle near Wigwam Avenue and Spencer Street on Thursday and took numerous items.

Investigators received several tips from the public after Vidal posted security camera footage on social media. Police then called Jones Saturday, and he indicated his willingness to turn himself in. The video can be seen on Vidal’s Facebook page.

Jones faces charges of burglary and for violating the condition of a previous suspended sentence.
