Southwest Las Vegas-to-Tulsa flight returns to airport


A Southwest Airlines flight bound from Las Vegas to Tulsa, Okla., returned shortly after takeoff to McCarran International Airport after crew members reported concerns about the aircraft, an airport spokeswoman said.

Spokeswoman Christine Crews said Flight 481 departed about 1:20 p.m. Thursday but circled back and was met by fire and safety crews about 2:45 p.m.

Crews said the Boeing 737 with 146 people aboard taxied safely to the gate, and no injuries were reported.

Southwest officials didn’t immediately respond to calls seeking comment.

The airline website stated that the flight was canceled.

Crews said passengers were being booked on other flights.
