Two people were killed after a three-vehicle accident Thursday morning.
The identities of the deceased were not released but Las Vegas police said they were two Las Vegas men, ages 58 and 26.
Las Vegas police said the accident happened about 9:30 a.m. at Flamingo Road and Swenson Street.
Police said a 2007 Hummer H2 driven by the 58-year-old man was heading east on Flamingo at a high rate of speed when it failed to stop at a red light and struck a 2010 Toyota Corolla at the intersection. The Corolla was driven by the 26-year-old man.
The Hummer then struck a 2005 Chevrolet van that had turned right from northbound Swenson to eastbound Flamingo. The Hummer rolled onto its roof and the driver was ejected. The driver of the Hummer died at the scene.
The driver of the Corolla was taken to a hospital and later died.
Their were no other passengers in either the Hummer or the Corolla. Three passengers in the van, ages 23 to 36, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The Clark County coroner's office will release the names of the dead victims.
The deaths are the 31st and 32nd traffic-related fatalities under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police in 2012.
