Two people involved in Monday night’s fatal accident involving a semitrailer and a car has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Gustavo Macias, 26, and Yoshiko Brigette Morishita, 25, both of Moreno Valley, Calif., were traveling southbound on Interstate 15 near the St. Rose Parkway exit in a Nissan when the car was hit by a semitrailer about 8:30 p.m. The vehicles came to rest on the St. Rose Parkway off-ramp, which was closed for almost 11 hours until the investigation was complete, said Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson.

Gustavo was the passenger in the car. Morishita was driving.

According to the coroner, both Morishita and Gustavo died from multiple blunt-force injuries. The accident was ruled accidental.
