Club at Madeira Canyon offers homes for families

Longtime Southern Nevada residents, Scott and Bridgette Cravens have lived in the southeastern valley for many years. They said they have always enjoyed casually looking at new neighborhoods and communities as they emerged in the area. Having owned two homes over the years, they were ready to move up and said they found exactly what they wanted at Del Webb's Club at Madeira Canyon.

It is the only Del Webb community in Southern Nevada that is not age-qualified. Homebuyers have a choice of 10 floor plan designs (in three elevation styles), ranging from 2,587 to 4,817 square feet, with up to five bedrooms and 51/2 baths. Prices start in the $530,000s.

The guard-gated enclave is located within the 487-acre planned community in the southern portion of Henderson.

"We began to feel a little crowded in our former home and neighborhood, so we started looking around various areas south of us, including The Club at Madeira Canyon," said Scott Cravens, a senior major account executive for IKON Office Systems, a supplier of digital office equipment and software products. "When we drove into The Club at Madeira Canyon we immediately liked the ambience of the community, the quiet, suburban feel, the beautiful clubhouse and on-site recreational facilities and the wonderful views from various vantage points within the development. We also thought the pricing was very competitive, considering the quality of the homes and surrounding community," he said. "It just made sense for us to seriously consider buying a home here."

The Cravens chose the Ancona design, a two-story home that features five bedrooms and four baths in 4,378 square feet. The first floor of the home has a large family room and combined dining and living room, plus one bedroom and full bath. There is also an option for a den or office. The second floor features the master suite and three additional bedrooms, all with walk-in closets. The home also has three full baths and a game room or optional sixth bedroom, plus loft. It also comes with a large covered front and side porch, as well as a covered rear patio.

"We love the floor plan and spaciousness of the Ancona design," Cravens said. "It's perfect for a family, including the spacious family room, which opens off the kitchen, the open living areas, the huge master suite and the large secondary bedrooms. The home has a wonderful flow to it and we find it equally comfortable for day-to-day living as well as entertaining. We also were pleased to be able to get a large home site with scenic views of the nearby mountains."

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue and go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway, then turn left. Continue on Anthem about six miles, then make a left onto Bicentennial Parkway, a left onto Anthem Highlands Drive and a left onto Democracy, then follow the signs to the model park. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Wednesday when they open at noon.
