GLVAR recognizes Piette as Affiliate Member of the Year

Rick Piette of Premier Mortgage Lending was named the 2013 Affiliate Member of the Year by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. The longtime Southern Nevada mortgage professional received the award for supporting the association and contributing to the real estate industry.

“We appreciate the support of all our affiliate members. Mr. Piette has always been very supportive of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors and the real estate industry,” 2014 association President Heidi Kasama said.

Piette and his full-service mortgage company, specifically its privately funded Another Chance Nevada mortgage program for Nevadans who recently experienced a short sale or foreclosure, gained national attention in 2013 when Piette was interviewed for a nationally syndicated Bloomberg News story about postforeclosure second chance financing options.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors as it is the leading realty organization in Southern Nevada,” Piette said. “In 2014, I look forward to continuing to work with the association and helping those in the community fully understand that the many new mortgage options available after a short sale or foreclosure.”

Piette has worked in the residential mortgage industry since the 1980s. He opened Premier Mortgage Lending in 2011.

“Over the years, much has changed in the mortgage and real estate industries in Las Vegas with many cycles of ups and downs,” Piette said. “I believe that 2013 was another rebound year in the Southern Nevada realty market, with both an increase in prices and people buying homes to live in instead of just investors.”

“As a full-service lender, I personally saw an increased interest in the many different lending options that are out there. The thousands of Southern Nevadans who unfortunately experienced a short sale or foreclosure now have more opportunities to buy another home with the Federal Housing Administration’s new Back to Work mortgage program, that reduces the wait after a short sale to a year, or the private Another Chance Nevada program, which cuts the wait down to as little as a day.”

He is optimistic that the Las Vegas Valley’s real estate market will keep growing in 2014.

“I’m excited about what will happen with real estate in 2014 as we continue to build upon the housing price increases of 2013 as well as home sales,” he said.

Premier Mortgage Lending, NMLS No. 393282, at 8689 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 100, is a member of the Las Vegas and Boulder City chambers of commerce, Better Business Bureau and Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.
