Newlyweds pick Richmond American

Mark and Stacy McDonald still lived in Hawaii when they closed on their new home at Bonita Vista, a Richmond American neighborhood in southwestern Las Vegas.

"We came to town and did a lot of driving around to look at different neighborhoods," Stacy McDonald said. "We looked at other builders but thought Richmond American offered the best features. We liked the features that came standard, and the other upgrades were very well priced."

The McDonalds looked at several Bonita Vista floor plans and decided on the Jasper design.

"It was hard for us to narrow it down to one. The Amethyst was really great, too, but we ended up picking the Jasper because it had a larger master bath with dual sinks," Stacy McDonald said. "Plus, we liked the open room downstairs with the full bath."

Priced from the $280,000s, the Jasper offers three bedrooms and three baths in about 1,650 square feet. The entry overlooks a media room on the lower level, where an optional fourth bedroom is available. The main level includes a great room, kitchen and dining room.

Once the McDonalds decided on their floor plan, they visited the Home Gallery to choose design options. Located at 7770 S. Dean Martin Drive, the Home Gallery offers a number of home buying resources.

"Everyone at the Home Gallery was so helpful," Mark McDonald said. "We were only in town for three days and they got us in really quickly. We purchased in March and didn't come back until after we'd closed."

Four model homes are open at Bonita Vista. All floor plans are three-story designs and include three bedrooms, with some plans offering an optional fourth bedroom on the lower level.

The 1,550-square-foot Amethyst design, priced from the $270,000s, features a great room and a media room with volume ceilings. The Aventurine features three baths and a dining room with balcony in about 1,800 square feet, priced from the $290,000s. The Onyx is the largest floor plan, featuring a great room, bonus room and 31/2 baths in about 1,950 square feet.

To tour the models at Bonita Vista, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to the Tropicana Avenue exit and go east. Turn left on Bonita Vista Street. The models will be on the right side, one block west of Durango Drive.

Sales offices and model homes are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Friday when they open at noon. For more information, call the sales center at 871-4200.
