Realtor builds Summerlin home

Realtor John Lendacky patiently waited to build until the lot of his choice was available at The Ridges in Summerlin.

"It was well worth the wait," he said of the estate that offers a panoramic view of the Las Vegas Valley.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired estate features five elements throughout the home's design and exterior landscape that include wood, metal, earth, water and fire. According to Lendacky, consistency was a key component of the design process.

"I wanted common threads and a consistent look throughout the home and landscape," he said. "The five rare elements made this easy and fun to accomplish, and the result is truly inspiring."

The home features a contemporary design, incorporating a copper patina roof, sleek sandstone flooring imported from Israel, a gourmet kitchen, upstairs game room/home theater and two master bedrooms with Las Vegas Strip views.

The three-tiered backyard was designed for entertaining. Outdoor amenities include an infinity-edge pool with wet deck, spa and waterfall; an outdoor cooking area; eight fire pots and a large fire pit. All major rooms feature retractable pocket doors, allowing for a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living areas.

Lendacky chose The Ridges because of its elevated location, sense of exclusivity, well-manicured streetscapes and architectural diversity.

"There isn't a better place to call home," he said.

The Ridges is an 800-acre custom estate village located in the foothills of the Spring Mountains. It features several custom and semicustom neighborhoods developed around Bear's Best golf course. Currently, the village is home to more than 300 custom estates with more than 40 in various stages of development.

Residents of The Ridges have access to 150 parks, more than 150 miles of trails, special resident social and athletic events and programs, 26 public and private schools and more than a dozen houses of worship. Ridges residents also enjoy exclusive access to Club Ridges, a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse and fitness center with aerobic and steam rooms, tennis courts and pools.

Currently, two neighborhoods located within The Ridges are selling: Azure, one of the newest neighborhoods to open and Falcon Ridge, which only has a few remaining homesites available. Lot sizes range from ¼ to 1 acre, with a limited number of larger lots more than 1 acre in size and priced from the $200,000s to more than $2 million.

The master-planned community of Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley. Approximately 7,500 acres remain to accommodate future growth. The community is currently home to nearly 100,000 residents.
