■ WINNING/LOSING PITCHER: 51s, Matt Fox (6-4); Zephyrs, Brad Hand (3-5)

■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Cashman Field, Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit an inside-the-park home run, and Matt Fox fired seven scoreless innings for the 51s (67-56), who ascended into a tie with Sacramento (68-57) for first place in the Pacific South Division. … Nieuwenhuis hit his 12th homer to lead off the sixth — launching a drive off of the center-field wall, 433 feet from home plate — and scored standing up. He had two hits, two RBIs, two runs and two walks. … It was the first inside-the-park-homer hit by a 51s player since May 21 of last year, when David Cooper accomplished the feat. … Fox held the Zephyrs (61-64) to four hits, with two strikeouts and two walks, in his longest outing of the season. The right-hander also singled and scored a run. … Lucas Duda went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, a run and two walks to raise his average to .286. He drilled an RBI double in the 51s’ two-run first and had a run-scoring single in their three-run fourth. The first baseman was sent to Las Vegas on Aug. 5 for a major league rehabilitation stint for the New York Mets. … Eric Campbell belted two RBI doubles, and Ruben Tejada had an RBI single for Las Vegas, which has won seven of 10. … D.J. Mitchell replaced Fox in the eighth and allowed a run on three straight singles before walking a batter to load the bases with no outs. But the 51s escaped further damage as Mitchell struck out the next two batters and Justin Hampson came on for an inning-ending strikeout.
