Connie Mack state baseball tournament

Hector Perez hit a single in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring Eddie Ojeda from third base to lead the Las Vegas Mayhem to a 3-2 victory over Green Valley Elite on Thursday in the second round of the Connie Mack state baseball tournament at College of Southern Nevada’s Morse Stadium. Perez went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

In other games, the Las Vegas Grizzlies defeated the Summerlin Panthers 2-1; the Las Vegas Mustangs-Navy eliminated the Las Vegas Bulldogs 4-3; and the Las Vegas Crusaders upended the top-seeded Southern Nevada Falcons 5-4.

In today’s games, Green Valley (17-7) plays the Mustangs (14-10) at 1 p.m., the Grizzlies (14-10) meet the Falcons (21-3) at 4, and the Mayhem (20-3) face the Crusaders (17-7) at 7 p.m. in the championship bracket semifinal.
