Lady Rebels win seventh straight over UNR

Alana Cesarz, Danielle Miller and Mia Bell combined for 39 points to lead the UNLV women’s basketball team to a 57-49 Mountain West victory over UNR on Tuesday night in Reno, the Lady Rebels’ seventh straight victory over their intrastate rival.

Cesarz scored a game-high 14 points, Miller 13 and Bell 12 for UNLV, which gave coach Kathy Olivier her seventh victory in seven games against the Wolf Pack. Aley Rohde had 14 rebounds and eight points, and reserve Rejane Verin scored 10.

Neither team shot well. The Lady Rebels (5-10, 2-1 MW) hit 21 of 63 field-goal attempts for 33.3 percent, while UNR (6-8, 1-2) was 21 of 62 (33.9 percent).

Verin’s jumper with 3:33 left gave UNLV its biggest lead of the game, 51-40. The Wolf Pack got no closer than seven the rest of the way.
