LVMS, Speedway Children’s Charities give race fans opportunity to attend NASCAR Awards Ceremony

LAS VEGAS – For the first time, race fans have the opportunity to attend the season-ending NASCAR Awards Banquet. And through a cooperative effort between Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Speedway Children’s Charities, four lucky fans will be in attendance for the festivities.

The awards banquet, in Las Vegas for the first time, will take place Friday, Dec. 4, at the Wynn Resort & Casino.

Two pairs of tickets will be auctioned off on LVMS.com to the highest bidder beginning Monday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. (Pacific Time), and ending on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. (Pacific time). All proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

“The NASCAR awards banquet has been closed to the public prior to its moving this year to Las Vegas,” said LVMS President Chris Powell. “Not only are we excited to give four race fans the chance to attend the banquet and rub elbows with the stars of the sport, but we’re also happy that this opportunity will benefit a very worthy cause such as Speedway Children’s Charities.”

The winning bidders will receive tickets to the banquet, access to a special pre-banquet reception and the opportunity to walk the red carpet into the event. Tickets must be claimed within 48 hours after the auction and are non-transferable. For more information,

Also, fans are encouraged to attend the Chasers for Charity Fanfest to be held Dec. 2 in the Neon Garage and Blackjack Club at LVMS. The event will include a free-admission fan event throughout the afternoon as well as a charity roast of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion. The fanfest will serve as the kickoff for NASCAR’s inaugural Champion’s Week in Las Vegas. For more information on the event, please visit www.lvms.com.

Making a difference in a child’s life is the focus of Speedway Children’s Charities. SCC strives to do this in collaboration with the non-profit organizations it supports nationwide. Individually, SCC’s local chapters identify the needs of children in their communities and award grants to organizations that address them. Last December, the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities granted $314,000 to 67 local children's causes during its annual grant distribution ceremony.
