Surveillance footage shows 5 cops beating man during arrest — VIDEO

Five Marion County, Fla., police officers have resigned after surveillance video showing them tackling an unresistant man during an August 2014 arrest was released.

According to NBC News, Derek Price, who was arrested on a drug warrant, put his hands in the air, appearing to surrender, and immediately dropped to the ground. As seen in the video, that did not stop five police officers from kicking and punching Price's head, neck and body while he was on the ground.

Body camera footage from one of the officers appears to tell a different story, as the officers are heard yelling at Price to "stop resisting," and tell him to "put his hands behind his back." At one point, the officer turns off the body camera.

Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair said all five officers were suspended without pay. Based on the actions of the five police officers, "they should never receive another dime from the Marion County tax payers," Blair said.

On Wednesday, former Deputy Jesse Turrell, who had been fired following the incident, was indicted on civil rights violations by the Department of Justice. The indictment alleges that Terrell assaulted Price, which resulted in bodily injury, by repeatedly striking, kneeing and kicking the victim in the head, neck and shoulder area.

If convicted, Terrell faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The remaining four police officers involved in the incident were named by the Oscala Star Banner as James Amidei, Adam Crawford, Trevor Fitzgerald and Cody Hoppel. All four have resigned.
