Greek Food Fest:The 43rd annual Las Vegas Greek Food Festival, an event packed with traditional greek foods, music, dance and a carnival, is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 1; 3 to 11 p.m. Oct. 2; noon to 11 p.m. Oct. 3; noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 4 at the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road. 3. Blue Party:Goodwill of Southern Nevada's second annual Blue Party is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 in the courtyard of the World Market Center, 475 S. Grand Central Parkway. The event will feature original runway fashions created by local designers using clothes purchased at local Goodwill stores, live performances by David Perrico's Pop Strings Orchestra with special guest Frankie Scinta, and TAO Group resident DJ Wendi Cakes. Live painting with artists from Jana's RedRoom, silent and live auctions, vendor booths, and drinks provided by Wirtz Beverage Nevada also are planned. Rockin' Art of Sloan Canyon: In partnership with the city of Henderson and the Friends of Sloan Canyon, the Inspirada community invites valley residents to participate in the inaugural contest. Photography and artwork must be inspired by the ancient art, geology, cultural and natural resources and flora and fauna of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. The categories are: photography for participants 15 or older; photography for high school students; and two artwork categories for elementary and middle school students. The public is encouraged to vote for favorite entries during the People's Choice judging period, which will identify 26 winners, determined by the entries that receive the most likes at facebook.com/inspiradanv. A judging panel will identify one contestant from the winners as the Best of Show grand prize recipient. Oktoberfest celebration: The sixth annual Oktoberfest celebration is set from 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 3 at Centennial Plaza, 401 S. Fourth St., on the campus of the Historic Fifth Street School at Fourth and Clark streets. The outdoor event is free and open to the public. Traditional German food, beers, music and dance, and refreshments for sale are planned. Cox Communications Young Artists' Concerto Competition: The Las Vegas Philharmonic plans its annual Cox Communications Young Artists' Concerto Competition from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 inside the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre Recital Hall at the College of Southern Nevada's Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Young high school musicians who are legal residents of Nevada are eligible to compete. Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival: The 22nd annual festival is set to return to Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, Oct. 9-11. More than 200 artisans, historical re-enactments, and food and drink are planned. With traditional musical performances from Wicked Tinkers, Dread Crew of Oddwood, Bogtrotter's Union and Killian's Angels, and the return of the dinner theater, this year's event is set to feature several smaller stages with entertainment by the Gypsy Time Travelers, Mullaney, Nature of Mercy, Whiskey Bards and costumed performers such as the Bawdy Juggler Adam Reid, Endless Productions and the Snake Army. The festival is set to be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11.
