Cut hollow-core door with caution

: I am replacing an interior door that needs to be cut down. Either I bought the wrong size door or the opening for it is not a standard size. The door is hollow and I need to cut it down by about an inch in height and one-quarter inch in width. What is the best way to do this, and does it severely weaken the door?

Swap holiday decorations for everyday accessories

Dear Readers: As we approach the holiday season and time for decorating our spaces, I would like to offer, what I hope to be, a helpful hint. Holiday decorations tend to hold special places in our hearts for specific reasons.

The class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon both days.

Many were stacked up at the end of the pier, while others were spread out between there and the shoreline.

Former Oregon AD Moos appears to be best option

I am trying to determine how UNLV will inform the two finalists who won’t be offered the school’s athletic director job, given the ridiculous manner (e-mail from a search committee chairman) in which others were told Tuesday.

FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD — Striper fishing is good using live shad or lures in the Vegas Wash area. Trout fishing has been good because of plants. Anglers have been catching trout off the docks at Hemenway, Boulder Harbor and Crawdad Cove with PowerBait as well as catching a few stripers with shad. Stripers are coming in to chase the trout. Trout plants are set for Friday.
