The Newest U.S. Citizens in Town

Cai Chen, who came to this country from China, admires her new citizenship certificate during a naturalization ceremony in Las Vegas on Friday. U.S. District Judge Philip Pro presided and Deputy Clerk Melisa Jaime administered the Oath of Allegiance to about two dozen immigrants from 14 different countries at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office. They were among more than 9,000 people granted citizenship across the nation on Constitution Day, in remembrance of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
