EDUCATION UNDER FIRE: Gov. Brian Sandoval proposes to cut at least 9 percent in state funding for K-12 education over the next two years. But state Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford has put that percentage drop at 13.6 percent. As the Legislature planned to convene, Sandoval and Horsford were locked in a battle of wills.
