The head of the state AFL-CIO asked a state Senate committee Wednesday to kill a proposal that would allow voters to decide whether to repeal Nevada’s minimum wage. The proposal calls for repealing the state constitutional amendment that sets Nevada’s minimum wage, now $8.25 per hour, at $1 more than the federal minimum wage.
A jury on Wednesday found Wackenhut provided inadequate security at a Walmart parking lot on June 2, 2004, the night retired Air Force Maj. Michael Born was mortally wounded while changing his car’s headlight.
