Bulletin urges health care providers not to reuse single-use devices

A technical bulletin has been issued to all health care providers, reminding them that the reuse of single-use only devices “places the health, safety and welfare of the public at risk for blood-borne pathogens such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.”

Morehead State upsets No. 4-seeded Louisville

DENVER — Demonte Harper made a 3-pointer from the top of the circle with 4.2 seconds left Thursday to lead 13th-seeded Morehead State to the first upset of the NCAA Tournament, a 62-61 victory over No. 4 Louisville in the Southwest regional. After Harper’s go-ahead basket, the Cardinals had a chance to win it, but Morehead’s Kenneth Faried blocked Mike Marra’s attempt before the buzzer and Louisville was gone after its first game for the second straight year.

New York Times to start charging for website

NEW YORK — The New York Times says it will start charging for access to its website and for the use of smart phone and tablet applications later this month in the U.S. Beginning March 28, prices start at $15 for four weeks of full access to the website and the smart phone app.

House to vote on cutting off funds for NPR

WASHINGTON — House Republicans are preparing another strike against public broadcasting with legislation to bar federal funding of National Public Radio and prohibit local public stations from using federal money to pay NPR dues. Conservative antagonism toward NPR increased last week after an NPR executive was caught on tape deriding the tea party movement. Both the executive and NPR’s president resigned after the incident.
