Anger over bobcat video causes meeting tension

Eight armed Nevada Department of Wildlife officers escorted members of the county Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife into the government center Tuesday night. The strong police presence was a safety precaution after the board’s vice chairman posted online a video of his dog barking and lunging at a bobcat snagged in a leg trap.

Man sentenced to prison in jobless benefits scheme

A Las Vegas man was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday for his role in a sweeping scheme to steal $4.4 million in state and federal unemployment benefits. Efrain Garcia, 41, was the first of four men who pleaded guilty in the scam.
