A prostitution sting netted nearly two dozen arrests in Reno and Sparks over the weekend, including several suspected prostitutes from California who said they made the trip to try to capitalize on the Hot August Nights classic car celebration.

Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies said 53-year-old Michael Paszek turned himself in to law enforcement just before 10 a.m. Monday. They said the 62-year-old woman he battered and threatened Sunday had a protective court order against him.
