The Las Vegas City Council voted Wednesday to front the Smith Center up to $1.8 million to cover monthly expenses.
The long-running festival scheduled at Sunset Park in October has been canceled because of “uncertainty” over the coronavirus pandemic and event-associated costs.
The Nevada Museum of Art, Las Vegas, may ultimately find an alternative site via ongoing talks with the city but organizers are also interested in the nearby Clark County government center campus.
“The City of Las Vegas, The Early Years” will debut for free at the Charleston Heights Art Center on Wednesday.
