Areli Ponce had 21 points Wednesday as Virgin Valley’s girls basketball team earned a 42-39 overtime win over host Sunrise Mountain.
Derrick Thomas made a layup on an assist from Gavin Balistere with 10 seconds left to give Boulder Citys boys basketball team a 63-61 win over Boulder City on Wednesday.
Connor Peterson had 14 points Monday to help Palo Verde’s boys basketball team to a 58-56 overtime win over visiting Centennial.
Kendell Burrell scored 33 points Tuesday as Bonanza’s boys basketball team upset visiting Centennial, 73-64.
Skye Landaz hit a 3-pointer with less than 10 seconds to go in overtime to give Faith Lutheran’s girls basketball team a 51-49 road win over Palo Verde on Tuesday.
Anthony Maillaro had 23 points Friday to lead Palo Verde to a 93-89 double-overtime win over visiting Legacy.
Taylor Etopio scored 17 points, and Faith Lutheran’s girls basketball team went 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in the final four minutes to score a 53-49 overtime victory against visiting Shadow Ridge on Thursday night.
Julian Strawther hit a 3-pointer as time expired Thursday to give Liberty’s boys basketball team a 67-64 road win over Green Valley.
Kadrena Johnson’s basket with five seconds to play Tuesday gave Palo Verde’s girls basketball team a 34-32 home win over Bonanza.
Mojave’s Damon McDowell scored 18 points Friday night to lead the Rattlers to a 55-43 boys basketball victory over visiting Elko.
Elyse Young had her second consecutive triple-double, racking up 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and eight assists, on Friday to help host Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team to a 70-40 win over Arbor View.
Though the Pioneers fell behind early again on Saturday, they pushed their way back in front late in the first quarter and never trailed again to beat the Patriots, 61-46, to win the tournament.
Sydnei Collier made five 3-pointers during the Pioneers 64-47 rout of Cimarron-Memorial and had the game-winning shot in a 40-39 victory over Faith Lutheran at the Liberty Thanksgiving Invitational.
