The Palo Verde boys swimming and diving team won the Class 5A state championship Saturday for its 10th straight title. Coronado won its third straight 5A girls title.

Boys Swimming & Diving
The Liberty boys and Faith Lutheran girls won the Class 4A swimming and diving state team titles Wednesday at UNLV.
Led by senior Tyler Edlefsen, Palo Verde scored 91 points to hold off second-place Coronado, which scored 84, and won the Class 4A state title.
The Cougars finished with 452 points to claim the title. Green Valley finished second with 444 points, and Bishop Gorman finished third with 284 points.

Cody Prince won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.06 seconds and a margin of victory of .32 seconds to lead the Shadow Ridge boys swimming team to a 149-145 victory over Centennial at Pavilion on Saturday.
Tyler Edlefsen and Trajan Houston each won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to lead Palo Verde’s boys swimming team to a 213-70 win over Faith Lutheran.
Brandon Nellis swam the 50 freestyle in 22.27 seconds to help Coronado’s swim team to a 176-136 winover Foothill at Heritage on Saturday.
Tomer Blit and Benjamin Khavkin each won two individual events Tuesday at Pavilion to lead the Adelson School boys swimming team to a 119-76 win over Cimarron-Memorial.
Nikita Nazarov won two events on Saturday to lead Sierra Vista’s boys swimming team to a 133-101 win over Cheyenne at Pavilion.
