LaVerk Hodges’ 3-pointer with less than 30 seconds left gave Del Sol a 64-62 overtime win over Boulder City for the Class 3A Southern Region boys basketball championship.

The sturdy senior doubled as a running back for Legacy’s football team and said he started preparing for track season after football concluded.
Edmond ran the 100 meters in 11.84 seconds on Saturday at Desert Oasis to secure the Moutain Region championship — and an automatic bid to the Class 4A state meet next week. Teammate Aniya Smith finished second in 12.11, and Centennial’s Quincy Bonds ran 12.16 for third.
