Work will begin soon on the 35,000-square-foot meetings and convention space for the downtown resort, with the first customers expected in September.
Plenty of nods to classic Las Vegas will be visible at Circa. But you would be hard-pressed to find one as iconic or as tasty as a 99-cent shrimp cocktail.
Industry watchers say Circa’s glamorous new offering will put pressure on other properties to invest in their sportsbooks, even as the lion’s share of many sportsbooks’ revenue comes from online bets.
Circa owner Derek Stevens joked that because his new downtown resort was expensive to build, he couldn’t afford to put in an arcade.
