Las Vegas defeated Desert Pines and Clark beat Arbor View on Friday in the Class 4A girls state basketball semifinals at Cox Pavilion. They will play Saturday for the title.
The Class 4A boys and girls state basketball tournaments will be played this weekend, and it’s a chance for new champions to be crowned with two perennial powerhouses in 5A.

Rayshon Funches and Emmanuel Austin combined to score 22 points in the final 10 minutes as the Longhorns held on for a 68-66 win over Fairmont (California) in the Tarkanian Classic’s Eastbay Division at Faith Lutheran.
The good far outweighed the bad, though, as the Gaels pulled away for a 79-48 win over Lone Peak (Utah) in their Tarkanian Classic opener at Orleans Arena.
