Greg Burrell got a stop for the Desert Pines boys basketball team in the final minute to preserve a home victory over Foothill on Thursday.
Desert Pines used its formula of stout defense and big plays from freshmen to romp past Palo Verde on Thursday. The Jaguars next face top-ranked Bishop Gorman.
Greg Burrell rushed for 241 yards and four touchdowns on just 10 carries to lead Desert Pines to a 49-21 home win over Faith Lutheran on Friday.
The Desert Pines defense held Legacy to negative-23 yards in pitching its second straight shutout, and Marquis Roby threw three touchdown passes for the Jaguars.
