Class 5A experienced the biggest changes during the realignment process in the offseason, but one thing remains the same: Bishop Gorman’s dominance.
The Durango boys basketball team defeated defending champion Liberty to win the Class 5A state title Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Durango found its offensive rhythm in the second half as the Trailblazers rolled past Douglas in the Class 5A state semifinals, while Liberty handled Bishop Manogue.
The Liberty Patriots fought back against the Durango Trailblazers for a 73-68 win in the 5A Southern Region semifinals.
