Members of the class of 2020 are losing out on many traditions amid the COVID-19 pandemic, including walking across the stage for graduation.

Seniors at the Las Vegas high school have started an online petition demanding that the school delay their graduation ceremony rather than hold it online.
A member of the Clark County School District Police Department who was working at the site has not tested positive for COVID-19, but the site will be closed for deep cleaning “out of an abundance of caution.”
The College of Southern Nevada will transition to remote classes this week, following Gov. Steve Sisolak’s instruction that all schools in Nevada should close amidst growing coronavirus concerns.
“The health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff — especially those who are at greater risk — are at the forefront of our decision making and planning,” UNLV President Marta Meana said.
The third-grader who found his mother’s gun in his backpack at Bracken Elementary School earlier this week told police that there “are a lot of weapons at his house.”
