National Education Association of Southern Nevada has asked the Clark County School District to close its schools in light of coronavirus concerns.

The decision to self-quarantine was made as a precaution, and the student has not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, university spokeswoman Cindy Brown said.
The cleaning is in response to the spread of COVID-19, though as of Friday the district had no confirmed cases of the virus.
Clark County School District police on Friday arrested a 17-year-old student suspected of bringing a loaded gun to Sunrise Mountain High School.
Southern Nevada health officials will clean the school with the aim of preventing a further outbreak. A “high number” of students reported stomach problems.
