Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger got a healthy sampling of the Las Vegas restaurant scene while in town for a concert at Allegiant Stadium.

In his first appearance in the Bagelmania event, Joey Chestnut downed 15 bagels in eight minutes.
As co-creator Kimm Willecke says, “The Bellagio Fountains are going to shoot off in the background, so while we’re playing inside, it’s also going to be playing outside.”
“This is not a fussy restaurant, because we are not uber-serious people,” the 38-year-old Will Guidara says. “We take what we do seriously, but not ourselves seriously at all. We like to have a party.”
Kind Heaven will present live music of all genres on four stages, with Perry Farrell himself heading up the booking. Its walking tour will focus on Southeast Asia cuisine and culture.
Until recently, 7th Carson, which opened this summer at — well, Seventh Street and Carson Avenue, in downtown Las Vegas, served only one dessert, Salted Butterscotch Panna Cotta ($8).
My, how suburban-mall restaurants have changed over the years.
Every deli offers an Italian sub, but Taste of the Town readers offer their suggestions for the best.
Taste of the Town readers crave cabbage rolls. So, reader Beverly R. Villeneuve sent in this recipe for unrolled cabbage rolls.
When we moved the Taste of the Town column inside the section, one thing we added was that I’d respond to recipe searches. I’ve found a few, but lately haven’t gotten any requests from readers.
Ah, the vagaries of the corporate world and the still-struggling economy. It appears, as reader Rob Lindley pointed out, that the Home Pride bread that Dennis Hughes was seeking had temporarily disappeared from supermarket shelves because of the financial problems of parent company Hostess, but has since been bought by Flowers Foods.
Hot dogs of one brand or another are without doubt one of the most popular items sought by Taste of the Town readers over the years. It’s either a case of the things we eat during the early part of our lives influencing our tastes, a yearning for the tastes of happier times or a combination of both. (Although I have to say I never get a craving for Kahn’s, “the wiener the world awaited.” The company, now owned by Sara Lee Corp., uses “The taste you’ve always loved,” and I think they’re on to something.)
It’s not unusual for Taste of the Town readers to search for foods they’ve tasted in local restaurants, and that was the case with a recent request from Cheri Carr. Carr is looking for a cranberry-walnut bread that she said used to be served at The Flame Steakhouse at the El Cortez.
Today we have two reader finds, both Progresso products and both involving clams. Clearly, Taste of the Town readers like their Progresso clams.
