Here are the 2018 girls basketball honors, as selected by coaches.
Samara Miller made two free throws with 11 seconds remaining to lead Green Valley’s girls basketball team to a 50-47 road win over Dixie (Utah) on Friday.
Spring Valley’s girls basketball team took the lead with 46 seconds to play on Thursday and held on for a 47-45 win over Regis Jesuit (Colorado) in the La Jolla (California) Sweet 16 Tournament.
Niara Smith scored 12 of her game-high 18 points in the second half on Friday as Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team rallied in the second half for a 54-43 win at Desert Pines.
Dayonna Maddox scored 15 points and Canyon Springs’ girls basketball rallied in the second half to defeat host Faith Lutheran 54-42 on Tuesday.
Centennial led for most of the first half, but the Bulldogs couldn’t hold on and lost 66-59 to Paul IV (Virginia), ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today.
Centennial’s Justice Ethridge scored 28 points Friday as the Bulldogs’ girls basketball team used a strong second quarter to pull away from Christ the King (N.Y.) for a 78-55 win in their season opener in the Art Turner Memorial in Fairfax, Virginia.
Iymoni Burrell and Shania Harper each scored 18 points on Thursday to lead Sierra Vista’s girls basketball team to a 59-56 win over host Cimarron-Memorial.
