Here is the 2019 Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada girls soccer team.
The Faith Lutheran girls and Bishop Gorman boys needed one goal apiece to cap unbeaten seasons with Class 4A state championships Saturday at Hug High School in Reno.
The Bulldogs moved into USA Today’s Super 25 Region VI rankings at No. 15 after becoming the first team to put a blemish on Faith Lutheran’s record in a 0-0 tie.
The Crusaders stayed undefeated and moved up two spots to third in the USA Today Super 25, while Eldorado handed the 14th-ranked Las Vegas boys their first loss.
The Durango Fall Classic, a 64-team event with a mix of schools from the valley and others from all over the country, will be played at four schools Friday and Saturday.
A handful of valley soccer teams are making national waves this season, led by the Aggies, who are 6-0 and ranked 14th in this week’s USA Today Super 25 poll.
The Gaels, the defending Class 4A state champions, defeated Boulder City, the reigning Class 3A champ, 15-25, 25-8, 15-13 in the title match Saturday.
