Durango’s girls volleyball team picked up its first big win of the season, claiming the title of the Gator Classic with a 25-21, 25-20, 25-18 victory over host Green Valley in the championship game on Saturday.
Kylie Gibson had 17 kills, four aces and two blocks to help Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team win the Class 4A Sunset League with a 19-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 home win over Durango on Friday night.
Julia Whiting-Reed had 17 kills to help Green Valley’s girls volleyball team rally for a 24-26, 25-14, 22-25, 25-19, 15-10 win at Liberty on Friday.
