This week, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Nevada crept up over $4 per gallon, for an average of $4.02 statewide, the highest the state has seen since 2014.

Back-to-school shoppers in the Silver State are expected to spend $481.4 million on clothes, supplies, food and electronics this year, an all-time high for the state, the Nevada Retail Association said Thursday.
The trucking industry is short more than 50,000 drivers across the country, according to National Tank Truck Carriers.
“Typically, going into a holiday weekend, drivers can expect gas prices to increase,” said AAA Nevada spokesman Sergio Avila. “That includes here in Las Vegas and Nevada as a whole.”
Vegas PBS said it will collaborate with New Employees of Nevada to select 12 students, between the ages of 20 and 45, for the program.
