Las Vegas police announced on Monday that they have solved the 1979 abduction, rape and killing of a 16-year-old girl by using advances in DNA technology.

“It’s a very good day for the state, but more importantly, it’s a very good day for all the survivors who’ve been waiting up to this point to have their rape kits tested,” said Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford.
Las Vegas police on Wednesday urged any additional victims of four sexual assault suspects, described as “violent predators,” to come forward.
