Anthony Maillaro had 23 points Friday to lead Palo Verde to a 93-89 double-overtime win over visiting Legacy.
Dylan Hushaw poured in 30 points, and Jace Roquemore added 21 points Wednesday to help Foothill’s boys basketball team to an 83-60 win at Green Valley.
Cimarron-Memorial’s Isaiah Armstrong made a basket with four seconds to play to seal a 62-59 home basketball win over Las Vegas High on Monday.
The Bulldogs raced to leads of as much as 20 points twice in the first 7 minutes, 7 seconds of their Northwest League boys basketball season opener at home, only to have the Spartans claw their way back close. But finally, after Cimarron had gotten within 13 again early in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs pulled away for good en route to an 81-62 victory.
Alexander Spaight led all scorers with 25 points for Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team in a 70-66 overtime victory over host Green Valley on Friday night. took down the Gators in overtime.
Rayshon Funches converted the go-ahead basket with 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and teammate Emmanuel Austin added a free throw on the ensuing possession to help Legacy secure a 57-54 victory over Democracy Prep in the tournament championship on Saturday night.
The Blue Knights overwhelmed Cimarron-Memorial on Friday to record a 72-46 victory in Legacy Tip-Off Classic quarterfinal play. They will meet Arbor View at 10:25 a.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
