Class 5A experienced the biggest changes during the realignment process in the offseason, but one thing remains the same: Bishop Gorman’s dominance.
Here is the 2019 Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada football team.
Daniel Britt threw four touchdown passes and ran for one as the Patriots rolled to the Desert Region semis. Bishop Gorman domainated Coronado 52-7.
Centennial needs a win over a Cimarron-Memorial team that is out of the playoff race to claim its first league title since 2002 and the No. 1 seed in the Northwest League.
Chaparral’s Dennis Perez make field goals of 24 and 33 yards in the game’s final three minutes, and the Cowboys claimed a 6-3 Southeast League victory over Basic.
Even with Centennial’s 17-14 win over Arbor View and Virgin Valley’s 14-7 victory over Boulder City factored in, the average margin among the 15 games was 34.5 points.
Unbeaten Centennial travels to Arbor View in a Northwest League opener Friday night that could go a long way toward determining its champion.

This is my favorite week of the prep football season.
The Division I-A Southern Region playoffs begin, there are two league titles up for grabs, and all the games are Thursday because of Nevada Day.
“This (stuff) is TOO easy!” After seven weeks of prep football action, I am nailing 72 percent of my picks straight-up. Three of my losses this season came last week when I missed every play in my prop bet extravaganza. (#Karma Right, Durango fans?)
The bad streak I’ve been on with my picks put me in a real funk.
