Palo Verde and Coronado’s girls golf teams braved the windy conditions Monday afternoon to take leads in the Class 4A Sunset and Sunrise Region tournaments at Boulder City Municipal.

Freshman McKenzi Hall shot par 72 on Monday to tie for second and lead Centennial’s girls golf team to the team title at a Northwest League match at Painted Desert.

Palo Verde’s Annick Haczkiewicz carded a record 9-under-par 63 on Monday at Siena Golf Club to earn medalist honors and overshadow Bishop Gorman winning its fourth straight Sunset Region title.
Bishop Gorman swept the top three places and shot 309 on Wednesday to win a Southwest League girls golf match at Angel Park.
Coronado had three of the top seven finishers Thursday and held off Bishop Gorman to capture its second consecutive state title.
On a day when none of the competitors broke par at Primm Valley Golf Club’s Lakes Course, defending champion Coronado was unable to separate from the pack and left the door open for Bishop Gorman heading into Thursday’s final round.
