Nathan Carlin pulled away from the field Tuesday and helped Foothill’s boys cross country team capture the freshmen race of the Bud O’Dea Classic at Desert Breeze Park.
Boulder City placed four runners among the top nine to win a six-team girls cross country meet at Hemenway Park on Wednesday.
Claire Rawlins trailed Basic’s Raquel Chavez for much of the race, but stayed within striking distance to the end. She then raced past Chavez and held off Sierra Vista’s Sarriah Brown to win the 3.1-mile race in 19 minutes, 16 seconds.
