The Lake Mead National Recreation Area announced Friday that it is closing several camping areas, trails and hot springs to promote “social distancing.”
The move came after officials struggled to implement social distancing among tourists to the dam, according to the announcement.
Lee Canyon announced in a statement Tuesday that it will remain closed for the remainder of the season, citing growing coronavirus fears.
Clark County is closing all park and recreation facilities on Monday because of continuing concerns about the spread of coronavirus.
With health authorities recommending the public practice social distancing to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, many Las Vegans flocked to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
