Athletes around area make college choices official

Bishop Gorman’s Abbey Archambault, a 6-foot senior outside hitter/middle blocker, signed a letter of intent with Idaho State during a ceremony in Gorman’s gymnasium attended by more than 100 friends and family. Wednesday was the first day of the early signing period.

He has 19 scholarship offers — Northwestern was the most recent on April 30 — and his family has racked up plenty of hotel points over the past month and a half making unofficial visits on the weekends.

Green Valley”s Xavier Jarvis has yet to receive a scholarship offer despite leading the state in scoring this past season, but the Gators” guard said he is confident his future will be decided before the spring signing period begins April 13.
