Several sports teams from around the valley are making alternate plans after the CCSD cancelled out-of-state travel because of coronavirus concerns.

Deanna Barrera smacked a single up the middle to score Ashlyn Heck from second base in the bottom of the seventh, capping a three-run seventh-inning rally as the host Bulldogs edged Shadow Ridge, 3-2 in the Mountain Region Tournament.

Kaitlin Fazendin had a home run and a double Thursday as Durango’s softball team scored three in the seventh inning to stun host Desert Oasis, 11-9.
