Ashley Ward spun a six-hitter and struck out 11 on Friday to lead host Coronado’s softball team to a 5-0 win over Basic in a battle of Desert League leaders.
Teegan Teal’s two-run single in the top of the seventh inning lifted Spring Valley’s softball team to a 10-8 win at Tech on Thursday.
Skyler Lauver went 5-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs on Monday to lead Pahrump Valley’s softball team to a 10-8 win at Moapa Valley.
Kaitlyn Suarez’s sacrifice fly to center field with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Anaiya Irick with the winning run as Rancho edged Silverado, 8-7 in the championship game of the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California.
Mikayla Berg was 2-for-2 with a three-run home run, and Basic’s softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to get past visiting Silverado on Thursday, 11-9.
Makena Martin hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday to complete Palo Verde’s rally and help the Panthers’ softball team beat visiting Faith Lutheran, 5-4.
